ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE AWARD “THE BEST PROJECT OF THE YEAR- 2018”

Goal of the award:

To identify project management standard level of projects conducted in Mongolia; to advertise and encourage the successful project with advanced project management

Eligibility:

Eligible project should have lasted half-year or longer by 2018 and the project budget should be 500 million tugrik (or equivalent currency) or higher

Deadline:

End of submission: October 22, 2018, 6 pm

Public announcement of the winner: October 26, at 11 am which is after welcome and keynote speeches

The selection procedure:

The selection will be made according to selection principle of global project management institute

  1. As shown in the attachment 1, the candidate must submit PDF version of materials  to secretary@pmimongolia.mn,  professionaldevelopment@pmimongolia.mn, email addresses of PMI Mongolia Chapter by no later than 22nd of October, 6 pm.
  2. The expert jury will nominate and make a final decision about the winner by 25th of October, 2018 at his own unquestionable judgment
  3. The project which is awarded as “Best Project of the Year - 2018” will receive the certificate at the conference “SHIFTING TOWARDS FUTURE EXCELLENCE”, which is held by PMI Mongolia Chapter on 26th of October , 2018 at 11 am.

Eligibility and materials for candidates of “Best Project of the Year- 2018”

/Please submit up to two pages for each ten questions ,  in total it must be within 20 pages /

1. General information/ introduction
General information about the project must include followings:

  • Project introduction
  • Project reason and organizational needs
  • Main issues resolved by the project
  • Main outcomes on stakeholders and society

2. Customer references
The customer of the project should provide information on particular project according to the contents below:

  • How did the project outcome meet your requirements?
  • What opportunities did the result of project bring to your company and customers?
  • As a customer of project, please write three reasons to suppose the project as “Best Project of The Year” ?

3. Project outcomes
Please determine project outcomes according to the contents below:

  • What did project outcome contribute to your organization?
  • What did project outcome contribute to society?
  • How did you measure those outcomes? What approach did you use to do determine advantages of project outcomes?
  • What problems and dilemmas related to project outcomes have occurred?

4. Project Schedule Management
Please determine how Project Schedule Management was implemented successfully according to the contents below:

  • Information about how to make project schedule and schedule monitoring and controlling processes, tools and software used in these activities
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in order to manage critical activities on the project critical path
  • What approaches did you use to implement project successfully within planned schedule?
  • What problems and dilemma have occurred because of Project Schedule?

5. Project Cost Management
Please determine how Project Cost Management was implemented successfully according to the contents below:

  • Information about how to calculate project cost, cost monitoring and controlling processes, tools and software used in these activities
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in order to manage project cost
  • What approaches did you use to implement project successfully within project budget?
  • What problems and dilemma have occurred because of Project Budget and Cost?

6. Project Scope Management
Please determine how Project Scope Management was implemented successfully  according to the contents below:

  • Information about how to determine, finalize and confirm project scope, scope monitoring and controlling processes, tools and software used in these activities
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in order to manage project scope?
  • What approaches did you use to implement project successfully in accordance with project scope coverage
  • What problems and dilemma have occurred because of Project Scope?

7. Project Stakeholder Management
Please determine how collaoboration and communication between project stakeholders got successful according to the contents below:

  • Who are the main stakeholders in the project? Information about why they are the main stakeholders ?
  • Information about how expectations and requirements of project stakeholders are managed and monitored throughout the project, tools, and methods used in this process
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in order to manage project risksstakeholder’s stakeholders’ expectations, communication and collaboration??
  • What approaches did you use to manage project stakeholders in order to implement project successfully ?
  • What problems and dilemmas related to stakeholders have occurred?

8. Project risk management
Please determine how  project risk management was implemented successfully according to the contenta below:

  • Please determine main risks occurred in the project. Why were these risks considered as crucial in your project?
  • Information about risk registration and documentation process, tools and methods used in this process
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in order to manage project risks and issues?
  • What approaches did you use to manage project risks in order to implement project successfully ?
  • What problems and dilemma have occurred because of project risks?

9. Change Management
Please determine how  project change management was implemented successfully according to the contents below:

  • Please determine main changes occurred during project implementation. Why were these changes considered as crucial?
  • Information about change registration and monitoring process, tools and methods used in this process
  • How do you effectively use these project management processes, tools, and methods in project change management?
  • What approaches did you use to manage project changes in order to implement project successfully?

10. Lessons learned
Please determine lessons learned (lessons from other projects can be included) from project according to the contents below:
